Kenneth Ticehurst (born January 22, 1945) is an Australian politician, and was a Liberal member of the Australian House of Representatives from November 2001 to 2007, representing the Division of Dobell, New South Wales.
Biography
Ken Ticehurst has a qualification in electrical engineering. He worked as a manager in marketing and sales, technical and manufacturing and as a managing director before entering politics.
Political career
In his first election campaign (2001), Ticehurst won the seat of Dobell, ousting Michael Lee. The Australian Labor Party had held the seat since it was created in 1984. The result was very close, coming down to just 560 votes (2 Candidate Preferred).
In 2004, Ticehurst improved his margin, winning by 8904 votes (2 Candidate Preferred). In 2007, he contested his third Federal Election having being pre-selected again by the Liberal Party. He was defeated by Labor Party candidate Craig Thomson.
